There are usually several reasons why your home is not being show, and we will first start with the price. If you are not getting activity check your price and compare it to active and pending homes sales in the area. Actives and pending homes do not determine the price your home will sell at, but they will give you a good idea where you need to be to get it sold.
Overall presentation of your home… How is it? This is one of those moments where inviting your frenemie over to give your the no frills truth comes in handy, or just contact a friendly Realtor.
If your home is in need of exterior maintenance, interior maintenance, and de-cluttering, its time to get busy. The maintenance you complete does not have to be big, it can be painting your front door, pressure washing your driveway, weeding your garden. All of which should be done before your home ever comes on the market.
How to get your home shown and sold:
1.) Check your price against active, pending and sold homes.
2.) Maintain your lawn
3.) Paint any scuff marks on your home
4.) Wash your windows
5.) Declutter your home
6.) Remove all family photos
7.) Remove large obstructive furniture
8.) Kitchen counter tops should be almost cleared
9.) Books should be stowed
10.) House should be ready for showings, and showings should be accepted even when its inconvenient. If you don’t go out of your way to show your home, Buyers, Sellers and Agents wont think you are serious.
11.) Ask your agent what they are doing to sell your home, if your home is not online ask why because over 90% of Buyers start their home search online.
