Downtown Bozeman has outstanding dining, shopping, entertainment, and just "hanging out" opportunities, but that is far from all that downtown has to offer. Downtown Bozeman is all about the festivals! From Music on Main to Sweet Pea and everything in between, if you desire a downtown lifestyle that will keep you hopping, then Bozeman is it!

Music On Main happens every Thursday night from late June to mid-August (this year's kick off is June 13 and it wraps up on August 13). The hours of operation are 6:30p to 8:30p. Music On Main features activities for the kids, food vendors, and of course, music. A different local/regional act is featured each week. Main Street is closed for the event and businesses up and down Main Street get in on the fun.

What is affordable housing in Bozeman? It's relative according to the buyer. Obviously, what Bill Gates views as a affordable, may not appear quite the bargain for you and I. Also you won't be able to buy the same home in Jackson Hole for $200,000 (or any home for that matter), that you could buy in, say, St. Louis. In the Bozeman, MT area housing is not dirt cheap, $250,000 and less is considered affordable. But it's well worth it to reside in one of the coolest, most beautiful places that you could call home.

Depending on your income, there may be compromises when purchasing your own home. One of the key things to keep in mind is not to buy more home than you can afford. When a night on the town becomes unaffordable because your mortgage is…

South Cottonwood Creek Trail ranks number one on my favorite's list. The fact that it's fairly close to my house helps (if your heading west, turn left at the intersection of Cottonwood Rd. and Huffine Ln., travel approximately 7.5 miles to Cottonwood Canyon Rd., which is a dirt road, follow Cottonwood Canyon Rd. to it's termination point and the trailhead will be on your right). The trail parallels South Cottonwood Creek for most of it's duration, and rather than being an all up and then all down type of trail, South Cotton follows rolling terrain right up to the southwestern flank of Mt. Blackmore (approx. 11 miles from the trailhead). This makes it ideal for more mellow hiking or a trail run where you can really open up the throttle on occasion. Also…

Being of Southern origin, I truly appreciated my first taste of Cafe Zydeco. It's location is a little off the beaten path (2711 West College St.), but believe you me it's worth the extra mile. It's located in a very quaint old building, and the interior is just as inviting and cozy. If you hadn't guessed from the name, it's a Cajun joint. They feature various Po' Boy sandwiches, Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, and Gumbos to name a few. They also carry such classics as tacos, pitas, gyros, etc. all with a Cajun spin. The fried catfish Po' Boy is my current choice. There's also a cool little wine bar you can belly up to. If your in the mood for something a little different, give Cafe Zydeco a try. Their slogan is "Git' Some South in Your Mouth", how can you go wrong?

Downtown Bozeman is chock full of cool shops, restaurants, coffee houses, boutiques, candy stores, sporting goods, whiskey bars, art galleries, and the list goes on. It’s a great place to take a stroll, catch up with friends and neighbors, and peruse the offerings up and down Main Street.

You can try the Baxter Hotel for a start, it’s home to Ted’s Montana Grill (great bison steaks) and the Bacchus Pub (locals spot with live entertainment and delicious bar fare), and Chatelaine Chocolat Co. (a boutique chocolate shop with some intriguing flavors). From there head east, shop and window shop to your hearts content.

One of the great things about downtown is the plethora of Downtown Bozeman Real Estate offerings, all within easy walking distance of the…
