Are you like me and moved to Bozeman not too long ago? Today I decided that a roadtrip to Three Forks was in order...Join me to learn more about this town!
Thirty miles from Bozeman you will find this historically considered birthplace of the Missouri River town, with a population of less than 5,000. This location means the area is a paradise for nature lovers, home to the Missouri Headwaters State Park offering opportunities for camping, hiking, and many other outdoor recreation activities like golfing. Today I took #278 exit the first thing I saw pulling into town was the Headwaters Public Golf Course which is one of the few golf courses that are open year-round. Then I noticed a historic railroad station called the Headwaters Heritage Museum that is open in the summer and by appointments. Three Forks is home to the beautiful and historic Sacajawea Hotel (See top/left picture). The hotel opened in 1910 and is the Historic Hotels of American's destinations. A MUST STOP to visit and to eat in my opinion!
Take a walk down Main Street and you'll find plenty of options from small cafe to pizza to eat and little shops and antique shops to find hidden treasures. I stopped at Iron Horse Cafe & Pie Shop #threeforkspielady for a slice of pie and will be back for sure! (see bottom/left picture) Three Forks has maintained its charm and deserves its title as Montana's Best Small Town! Events like The Three Forks Rodeo really brings this community together and should be added to your calendar is you are looking for a family friendly rodeo to attend.
Affordable home prices is the reasons I am here today. Follow me and you will soon find what I got under contract in this town. Are you looking for a single family home and are realizing that driving to work might be your only option? Within thirty miles you could be in Bozeman so might be a good option for you?
