Things To Do In Big Sky, Montana
Exploring Big Sky
Did you move to Bozeman not too long ago? Or maybe just like to explore surrounding towns? We decided that a road trip to Big Sky was in order... Join us to learn more about this town!
When thinking Big Sky...what is the first thing you think of? Is it skiing? Mountain biking? Big Sky Resort? If you ask our kiddos it is skiing and mountain biking for sure! If you are looking for the Biggest Skiing in America then look no further than Big Sky Resort. Big Sky Resort is known for pushing the limits of skiing providing 4,350 vertical feet of terrain from the top of Lone Peak. Experiencing the one and only Lone Peak is a must! Ride the Lone Peak Tram to 11,166 feet above sea level for 300 degrees of skiing, views of three states, and 2 National Parks. Absolutely breathtaking to see and a must in our book.
Feel like going on a hike? Considered the heart of Big Sky...Ousel Falls. This 1.6-mile (round-trip) trail, which meanders alongside the South and West Forks of the Gallatin River will lead you to a waterfall. It's a beautiful hike that people and kids of all ages can enjoy. Looking for another spot to get rid of some of your children's energy? We would say Kircher Discovery Park. Take the short descent trail to a 500-square-foot tree fort designed to look like a ship, complete with multi-level decking, slides, a spider swing, and a climbing wall. How about an easy access to the Gallatin River? Follow one of the several paths from the fort where you can go fishing or let your furry pup get a drink and cool off.
Looking for a place to grab a bite? Located along the banks of the Gallatin River in Big Sky, Montana - The Riverhouse serves up authentic Texas barbecue Montana style starting daily at 3 pm. Our friend's and family's personal favorite... soft pretzel sticks served with cheese sauce while sitting on the back porch listening to music and taking in the views of the Spanish Peaks. These are just a few of our favorite spots in Big Sky.
