Music on Main: Your Ultimate Insider’s Guide to Bozeman’s Favorite Summer Concert Series

Cue the dramatic drum roll… because Music on Main is back and louder than ever.

Bozeman’s beloved summer street party is celebrating its 25th Annual Music on Main, and trust us—this year is going to be one for the books. From high-energy performances and local eats to that electric downtown Bozeman atmosphere, Music on Main is the ultimate way to soak up Montana’s short and sweet summer nights.

Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned sidewalk dancer, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know to enjoy the night like a local.

What Is Music on Main?

Held every Thursday evening from late June through mid-August, Music on Main is a free outdoor concert series that shuts down Bozeman’s Main Street and turns it into a full-blown community block party. Bands from across the country (and our own backyard) take the stage between Rouse and Black Ave from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and the event is 100% family-friendly.

In fact, you’ll find a dedicated kids’ zone with activities, food trucks and drink vendors lining the streets, and downtown shops and restaurants keeping the good times rolling long after the last chord.

2025 Dates + Lineup

The 2025 season is going to be jam-packed with incredible talent. Think rock, funk, country, bluegrass, and more—all performed under the Big Sky. Check out the full lineup and calendar here:

Insider Tips to Make the Most of Music on Main

  1. Get There Early
While the music officially starts at 6:30, locals know the party begins well before that. Grab a drink, claim your spot, and wander the street before the crowd rolls in.

  2. Ditch the Car—Ride or Walk
Pro Tip: Parking downtown is rough on Music on Main nights. Save yourself the stress and ride your bike or walk in. There are plenty of bike racks and it makes for a more laid-back exit when the night winds down.

  3. Bring a Blanket or Camp Chair
If standing for two hours isn’t your vibe, bring something to sit on. Grass spots go fast, but even a corner of sidewalk makes for a great perch.

  4. Hit the Local Spots Before or After
Main Street bars, restaurants, and breweries are buzzing before and after the show. Make a dinner reservation or grab a post-concert drink—you’re in the heart of Bozeman, after all.

  5. Kid-Friendly Fun
If you’ve got little ones in tow, head to the Family Fun Zone between 6:30 and 8 PM for crafts, face painting, and games while you still enjoy the music.

  6. Stay Hydrated and Sun Smart
Bozeman evenings are warm, but that sun can hang out for a while. Wear sunscreen, bring water, and don’t forget your shades.

  7. Support the Bands and Vendors
Music on Main is free thanks to local sponsors and businesses. Show your support by tipping the band, grabbing a bite from a food truck, or shopping local before or after the show.

There’s something magical about a summer evening on Main Street with music bouncing off the historic buildings and the whole town out dancing, chatting, and just enjoying life in Bozeman. Whether you come for the tunes, the food, or the people-watching, Music on Main captures everything that makes our community special.

So dust off those dancing shoes (or sandals), mark your calendars, and we’ll see you downtown.
