The State Fair is in town! This year, the Big Sky Country State Fair will run from Wednesday, July 18th through Sunday, July 22nd, 2018.

The fair will feature entertainment such as Randy Houser and Everclear.

2018 events include Wife Carrying Championships, Kids Pedal Tractor Pulls, Turkey Races, Grizzly Experiences, Lumberjack Shows, Workshops, Hypnotists, and more. There is even a small petting zoo for the kids!

A new hot spring - Yellowstone Hot Springs - is expected to open in August of this year! The hot springs will be located in Corwin Springs which is about eight miles away from Yellowstone National Park. The hot springs will be for-profit, owned by nonprofit Royal Teton Ranch. 

The facility will have a 3,750-square-foot pool that's temperature averages around 102 degrees Fahrenheit. Other feathers of the hot springs will include a hot plunge averaging around 104 degrees, a cold plunge averaging at 70 degrees, and kneipp walk. 

During Peak Season - which will run from May 15th to October 15th - the springs will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The hours for the off-peak season have not yet been determined.

Montana Indoor Sports will be coming to Four Corners, located on Jackrabbit Lane next to Murdoch's, late this year. We are so excited about this addition to our community and the year-round sporting availability! It's a self-proclaimed "clean, safe, and fun recreational experience in the comfort of a climate-controlled facility." Soccer, futsal, lacrosse, volleyball, basketball, softball, a baseball will all be available recreationally or competitively at the facility.

Why you should support HAVEN during Give Big Gallatin Valley 2018

  • In the last 2 years, there have been 5 deaths related to domestic violence in the Gallatin Valley. This accounts for 30% of all domestic violence related homicides in the state.

  • The CDC estimates that 20,000 survivors of domestic violence reside in the Gallatin Valley. With our current resources, HAVEN supports just 1,000 on an annual basis. This is 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men.

  • Children of domestic violence are 3 times more likely to repeat the cycle in adulthood, as growing up with domestic violence is the most significant predictor of whether or not someone will be engaged in domestic violence later in life

Winter and summer recreation - available June through March 

A fun day hike is Trail Creek hike located off of I-90 head south and (Exit 316) on the Trail Creek Road for 3 miles, then east on Goose Creek Road for 2 miles to the locked gate. Parking is available at this point. 

On this trailhead are majestic views of the Absaroka Mountains, Yellowstone River and Paradise Valley. 

This hike can be a day hike or multi-day hike. The trail will lead you to a quaint cabin, built in 1924. The cabin is located roughly 5.2 miles from the trailhead. It's a fantastic escape from civilization.

The cabin is equipped with a wood stove, horse corral, propane lantern, but NO drinking water is available. There are 2 bunks that sleeps four people. Water must be brought…
