Downtown Bozeman Art Walks 2026: Your Guide to the Remaining Art Walks

If you have been looking for an excuse to spend an evening wandering Downtown Bozeman, popping into galleries, discovering local artists, listening to live music and maybe grabbing dinner or a drink along the way, this is it.

The Downtown Bozeman Art Walk Series is back for 2026, and we are officially down to the final two Art Walks of the year.

The final Summer Art Walk takes place Friday, September 11, 2026, followed by the special Winter Art Walk on Friday, December 11, 2026.

As someone who loves sharing the people, businesses, and events that make Bozeman such a special place to live, this has always been one of my favorite downtown traditions. It is casual, walkable, and one of those events where you can show up without much of a plan and still end up having a great night.

Remaining Downtown Bozeman Art Walk Dates for 2026

  • Friday, September 11, 2026: Final Summer Art Walk, 6–8 PM
  • Friday, December 11, 2026: Special Winter Art Walk

The 2026 Downtown Bozeman Art Walk Series is presented by the Downtown Bozeman Association in partnership with downtown art galleries, retailers and the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture.

Throughout the season, more than 35 participating downtown businesses and galleries feature artists, openings and receptions. Many stops also offer hors d'oeuvres and complimentary refreshments, while local musicians perform throughout Downtown Bozeman.

September 11: The Final Summer Art Walk of 2026

If you missed the June, July, or August events, September 11 is your final chance to experience a Summer Art Walk this year.

From 6 to 8 PM, Downtown Bozeman will turn into one big walkable art experience, with galleries, shops, hotels, studios, and other businesses opening their doors for the evening.

The 2026 series currently lists 36 participating establishments, giving you plenty to explore without venturing far from Main Street.

What to See at the September Bozeman Art Walk

This month's lineup includes an especially interesting mix of Montana-inspired artwork, photography, contemporary painting, and new exhibitions.

A Banks Gallery: William "Lucky" Davis

At A Banks Gallery, fifth-generation Montanan William "Lucky" Davis draws inspiration from his family's ranching roots and the mountains, skies, and rivers of Montana.

His Tonalist-inspired approach captures something that feels particularly appropriate for a Bozeman Art Walk: not simply what the Montana landscape looks like, but the mood and emotion of being in it.

AC Hotel: Valley Peters

AC Hotel Bozeman Downtown will feature acrylic and mixed-media artist Valley Peters.

Her intuitive, layered work explores color, movement, feeling, resilience, and our connection to the natural world, bringing a more abstract perspective to the September lineup.

Hennebery Eddy Architects: Ben Lloyd

Hennebery Eddy Architects will feature photographer and architect Ben Lloyd, who brings an architect's eye for proportion, form and light to his photography.

With more than four decades behind the camera, his work sits at an interesting intersection of photography, architecture, and how we experience the built and natural environments around us.

The Emerson: New Exhibits, Art Market & More

The Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture is always worth adding to your Art Walk route, and September will bring all-new exhibits featuring Jeremy Hatch, Leah Cupino and Hazer.

The evening will also include an art market, open studios, food trucks, and community activities, making The Emerson an easy place to spend a larger portion of your night.

Visions West Contemporary: Christian Ruiz Berman

At Visions West Contemporary, visitors can see work by Christian Ruiz Berman.

His richly layered paintings explore migration, cultural identity, memory, architecture, and storytelling, combining abstraction, realism, and surreal imagery to create unexpected worlds where history and imagination meet.

More Places Participating in the 2026 Art Walk Series

Those are only a handful of the stops you can make.

The Downtown Bozeman Association currently lists 36 participating establishments for the 2026 series, including familiar downtown destinations such as Altitude Gallery, Cello Gallery, The Gem Gallery, Head West, Heyday Bozeman, Intrigue Ink, Kimpton Armory Hotel, Mountain Trails Gallery, Old Main Gallery & Framing, Stio, The Baxter Hotel, Tinworks Art, Two Trick Pony and more.

My advice? Don't try to see absolutely everything.

Pick a few artists or galleries you definitely want to visit, then give yourself enough time to wander. Part of the fun of an Art Walk is finding something you weren't planning to see.

Make a Night of It in Downtown Bozeman

One of my favorite things about the Art Walk is that it gives you a built-in itinerary for a Friday night without really requiring an itinerary at all.

Start with a few galleries, walk Main Street, stop when you hear live music, grab dinner somewhere downtown, and finish with a cocktail, dessert, or one more gallery you hadn't planned on visiting.

It's also a great opportunity to support locally owned businesses at the same time you're supporting artists.

And if you are newer to Bozeman, events like this are one of the best ways to experience downtown beyond simply shopping or going out to dinner. You get to see the community actually using the spaces that make Downtown Bozeman what it is.

Then Comes the 2026 Winter Art Walk

September may mark the end of the Summer Art Walks, but the series isn't finished yet.

Save Friday, December 11, 2026 for the special Downtown Bozeman Winter Art Walk.

If you've attended the summer version but never the winter event, it has an entirely different feel.

Downtown is lit for the holidays, storefronts are decorated, winter has settled into the Gallatin Valley, and the combination of art, shopping, music, and the holiday atmosphere makes it one of my favorite ways to experience Downtown Bozeman in December.

Last year's Winter Art Walk brought dozens of participating businesses together with local and regional artists, refreshments, and live music throughout downtown. I will continue updating this guide as the Downtown Bozeman Association releases the specific artist and business lineup for December 2026.

Planning Your Downtown Bozeman Art Walk

For the September Art Walk, I recommend arriving close to 6 PM, so you have the full two hours to explore. Parking a few blocks away and walking into the heart of downtown can also make it easier to move between stops once the event gets busy.

The Downtown Bozeman Association maintains an online guide to participating businesses and featured artists and also provides a downloadable map to help plan your route.

Why Events Like the Art Walk Matter to Bozeman

Bozeman has changed considerably over the years, but events like the Art Walk are a good reminder that downtown is more than a collection of buildings and businesses.

It is a gathering place.

The Art Walk brings together artists, galleries, retailers, restaurants, musicians, longtime locals, newcomers, and visitors in a way that feels distinctly Bozeman.

You don't have to be an art collector to enjoy it. You don't need a ticket. And you definitely don't need to understand every piece of art you see.

Just show up, wander around, and enjoy Downtown Bozeman.
