Gardiner, a census-designated place, is recognized for its scenic properties and close proximity to Yellowstone National Park. As this community is quite rural, listings on the Gardiner real estate market are limited to single-family detached properties and ranches, as well as vacant lots and land on occasion. Additionally, Gardiner sees quite a few tourists/outdoor enthusiasts who either stay at one of the lodges or hotels, or quickly pass through.
Homes for sale in Gardiner, Montana include a wider variety of styles than one might think. In the downtown area, homes typically feature siding (vinyl or wood), sloped (hip or gable style) roofs, and a more traditional look. These properties can also be bungalows or multi-story homes though older properties lean towards the former. Many of the homes in this part of the community have front and back yard, but size is relative based on location. In some rare cases, a historic property appears on the market, however these homes see quite an increase in price point, in comparison to other properties in for sale in Gardiner.
While communities such as these generally appeal to outdoor enthusiasts and/or those searching for a more laid-back lifestyle, there are some investment opportunities to be had. Homes can be rented out short-term, and some are listed for sale as fully-furnished because the previous owners may have used the property for this purpose.
Outside of the downtown, Gardiner has a number of log homes, cottages, and lodges on the market. Some of these properties are situated up in the foothills of Yellowstone National Park, and often have some significant acreage attached. As well, other buildings, such as workshops, garages, or guest suites, can be part of the property. This is also true of the homes for sale in the downtown area. The log cabins in Gardiner have been expertly maintained by their homeowners, many of which have preserved historic features or have been recently refurbished.
Land for sale in Gardiner is more rare to find, and instead it's more common to find homes with acreage that are zoned for multiple properties. For those searching to build a custom home, this community is rather limited. Nevertheless, Gardiner does sometimes offer both residential and commercial lots on the market.
