Check out the Dos and the Don'ts of Financing a Home 

You would be shocked how many Don'ts happen during a transaction. Most of these Don'ts can be avoided. Here are some ways to think about how to avoid putting yourself in a pickle:

- Buying a brand new car until after you purchase a home
- Save the money you have set aside for closing
- Buying only a few pieces of furniture that you don't need to open a line of credit for  

Perhaps you had to change jobs right in the middle of buying home. Sometimes that is unavoidable and life happens. But INFORM YOUR LOAN OFFICER to ensure you are taking the right steps and have done all you can do if you have to change your financial situation before closing on your home. 

Of course, lean on your real estate agent and loan officer to help answer those brain buster questions. If you aren't sure about something, just ask. Educate yourself on what NOT to do rather than finding out the hard way.
