PNKBZN Lights Up Downtown Bozeman in Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

BOZEMAN, MT [October 1, 2025] — Downtown Bozeman is going pink! For the entire month of October, Main Street will be lined with pink banners, and many local retailers and restaurants will showcase window decorations to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month through the community campaign PNKBZN.

Participating businesses are offering special “PNK Promotions” with proceeds benefiting local organizations that support individuals and families affected by cancer. The full and growing list of promotions can be found at downtownbozeman.org/PNKBZN.

Join the PNK Promenade

To kick off the month, community members are invited to join the second annual PNK Promenade on October 1st at 4:30 PM, meeting outside the Rocking R Bar. Decked out in pink attire, participants will walk the north side of Main Street heading east, turn at Rouse, and return along the south side back to the Rocking R Bar — celebrating unity, awareness, and hope.

Pack the Place in Pink

Montana State University and Bobcat Athletics are teaming up again for Pack the Place in Pink. Fans are encouraged to wear pink at the September 13th home football game and the October 25th volleyball game. Limited-edition pink T-shirts and hats are available at Universal Athletic and the MSU Bookstore for $25, with a portion of sales benefiting Pack the Place in Pink — a Montana nonprofit supporting breast cancer patients with financial aid.

What is PNKBZN?

PNKBZN is a collaborative campaign by Advanced Medical Imaging, Bozeman Health, Cancer Support Community Montana, Downtown Bozeman Partnership, Montana State University, and MSU Athletics, with design support from PRIME Incorporated. The campaign’s mission is to enhance local mindfulness and adherence to breast screening guidelines, increase awareness of screening and diagnostic resources, encourage open conversations about cancer within the community, and share inspirational stories of local individuals living with breast cancer.

The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 950 women in Montana will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025. In the greater Gallatin Valley, approximately one in four breast cancer diagnoses occur in women under 50. While rare, around 2,650 men are diagnosed with breast cancer annually in the U.S. Since its establishment in 1985, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month has focused on promoting early detection, funding research for a cure, and providing education to save lives.

Join Bozeman in painting the town pink this October. Shop local, attend community events, and show your support for those whose lives have been touched by cancer. For a full list of events, participating businesses, and resources, visit downtownbozeman.org/PNKBZN and PinkBozeman.com.
