These beautiful birds live in the agricultural fields and grasslands. They graze on the grains and hide in the grasses for protection. The season here in the Gallatin Valley will run until January 1st, 2018. For pheasant hunters, there are many access points in the Gallatin Valley so hunters can spread out.

For an angle on hunting, there is something to be said about hunting to bring food home for you and your family and the act of "providing". There's no denying that there is a special appreciation knowing where our food comes from. For hundreds of years, pheasant has been included in a variety of recipes including pheasant stew, soup, or simply roasted or barbecued on the grill. It's a lean bird so adding fat to the recipe will prevent drying out the meat for a tastier meal all around.

The pheasant feathers are stunning. There are many uses for these feathers so be sure to save them and gift them to someone who you think would appreciate their beauty. Happy Pheasant Hunting!
