This is the question of the century. And to make matters worse, this question branches off into a million other questions.

Do you stay in Bozeman? Do you leave? Where do you go if you do leave? What kind of job do you want? How much can you expect to get paid? What kind of work benefits (i.e. health insurance) will you receive? Are your parents going to boot you off of their health insurance soon? When can you afford a new car? Check out the Dos and the Don'ts of Financing a Home 


You would be shocked how many Don'ts happen during a transaction. Most of these Don'ts can be avoided. Here are some ways to think about how to avoid putting yourself in a pickle:

- Buying a brand new car until after you purchase a home
- Save the money you have set aside for closing
- Buying only a few pieces of furniture that you don't need to open a line of credit for

There was a recent Downtown Bozeman lot on the market for $345,000. After reading that, you are likely thinking something along the lines of ... "WHAT! That is an outrageous price!"

Affordability is a huge issue in town. Yes, we agree. However, there are a number of lots for sale in the $80K-$100K+ price range. In addition, in the last few months we sold new construction homes (3 to 4 bedroom - single family home) for that amount that were slightly outside downtown.

The take away here is, don't freak out that you can't afford Bozeman. You ABSOLUTELY can!

I recently attended the Economic Seminar here in Bozeman earlier this month. Economists are stating an overall trajectory that the Real Estate market will continue to grow through the next 5-10 years. This is a GREAT thing for the City of Bozeman, the Bozeman Real Estate market, and YOUR property value.

  • Interest rates are subject to continue increasing. What we don't know is what the rates will look like come summer...
  • We are still seeing pretty low inventory in Bozeman for single family detached units, condominiums, farm and ranches, across the board.
